Herndon Historic Marker Program

In 2015, Herndon adopted a Local Historic Marker Program. Beginning in 2016, the Town will install markers at sites of local historic significance identified by the staff and residents of the Historic Marker Committee.

Each marker will highlight a specific building, person, event, or period important to Herndon’s history and increase awareness and understanding of the heritage that helps make Herndon the special community it is today.

Thanks to everyone who attended the Historic Marker Unveiling Ceremony and special thanks to the Historic Marker Committee who have been and continue to be instrumental in the success of the program!
